Japan 2011 EarthQuake - Tsunami
Relief News Map of Affected Areas
Situation Facts:
- 9.0 Richter Scale Earthquake triggering a tsunami that is causing extensive damages

- An estimated 16,000+ people have died and the death toll is continuously rising

- over 300,000+ people have been displaced
- 100 times worse than Haiti, and comparable to the 2004 Tsunami of South East Asia

- Japan's coast has moved 8 feet on the earth’s axis
Current Situation
June 3, 2011: Volunteer in Japan - Apply Now!
Youth for Japan will be a similar program to Youth for Haiti. College students between the ages or 18 – 25 will visit the earthquake/tsunami affected areas of Japan. They will participate in relief activities and help in relief activities abroad.
There will be 2 batches:
  1. Brothers Batch: July 9th – July 16th, 2011 [Deadline: June 16th, 2011]
  2. Sisters Batch: July 23rd – July 30th 19th, 2011 [Deadline: June 23rd, 2011]
Program: Volunteers will:
  1. Serve hot meals to displaced earthquake victims.
  2. Participate in relief campaign.
  3. Interacting with Japanese students and get a chance to teach them English.
  4. Youth will volunteer alongside supervised professionals.
